Bangalore, Karnataka, 31st of August, 2026 : Fortis Hospital, Nagarbhavi hosted “The Walk of Confidence – From Their Journey to Our Inspiration,” a 3-km awareness walkathon, bringing together patients who had undergone Robotic Total Knee Replacement (TKR), senior citizens and doctors to celebrate their transformative journey from debilitating knee pain to renewed mobility and independence. Led by Dr. Manjunath Kodihally, Senior Consultant, Orthopaedics and Joint Replacement Surgery, the initiative highlighted how advancements in robot-assisted knee replacement can help patients return to everyday activities with greater confidence.
The walkathon witnessed the participation of over 500 people, including knee replacement patients, senior citizens, and members of Residents’ Associations from neighborhoods such as Nagarbhavi, Chandra Layout, RR Nagar, Kengeri, Muddalpalya, Vijayanagar, Rajajinagar & Magadi Road. Beginning at Fortis Hospital, Nagarbhavi, the 3-km route proceeded to the nearby Nagarbhavi circle and returned to the hospital, offering patients a meaningful platform to share their experiences of restored mobility and independence.
Knee-related conditions can significantly affect mobility, independence, and quality of life, particularly among older adults. Persistent pain and stiffness can make everyday activities such as walking and climbing stairs increasingly difficult. Against this backdrop, The Walk of Confidence sought to create awareness about these challenges and encourage individuals experiencing persistent knee problems to seek timely medical evaluation and understand the treatment options available to them.
