Mumbai, Maharashtra, 12th of September, 2026 : “The important role of physiotherapy is not limited to recovery and rehabilitation; it also makes a significant contribution to prevention, maintaining mobility, and enabling people to lead active and independent lives.” These words by actor and theatre personality Padma Shri Paresh Rawal bring into focus the changing healthcare needs of today.
Speaking at the inauguration of the dedicated SVKM Physiotherapy Clinic, established by SVKM in collaboration with the NMIMS School of Physiotherapy, Paresh Rawal emphasized the need to look at physiotherapy beyond treatment following an illness or injury. He said, “This initiative brings professional care and expertise closer to the community.” According to him, such initiatives can help create greater awareness about preventive healthcare and encourage people to prioritize their long-term health and well-being.

The new clinic will offer physiotherapy services across multiple areas, including musculoskeletal, sports, neurological, cancer, cardiac and respiratory care, women’s health, and geriatric physiotherapy. Equipped with modern facilities and supported by expert faculty, the clinic marks an important step towards providing accessible and professional rehabilitation services to the SVKM community.
Paresh Rawal’s message is clear—better health is not merely about recovering from illness, but also about staying active, capable, and independent for the long term.
