Dharmanagar,Tripura, 25th of September, 2026 : A high-level meeting was held on Thursday (24th September, 2026) at the conference hall of the District Magistrate’s office in North Tripura to review preparations for the upcoming TTAADC Village Committee Elections 2026.
Tripura State Election Commissioner P. K. Chakraborty and Director General of Police G. S. Rao attended the meeting. The North Tripura Superintendent of Police, Additional District Magistrate P. P., Sub-Divisional Police Officers, Returning Officers and several other senior administrative officials were also present.
According to the State Election Commission, elections will be held for 587 Village Committees, 2,634 electoral areas and 4,597 seats under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). A total of 1,550 polling stations have been designated for the elections. As per the final electoral roll, the total number of voters stands at 9,61,977.
As per the announced election schedule, polling will be held on September 28, 2026, while counting of votes will take place on October 5, 2026.During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on law-and-order arrangements, security measures, deployment of polling personnel and coordination among various government departments to ensure that the elections are conducted peacefully and fairly. Various aspects of the administrative and police preparations for the elections were also reviewed.
