Mumbai, Maharashtra, 6th of October, 2026 : Santosh Katariya has been re-elected as President of the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) for a second consecutive term, with the association’s core leadership committee also retaining their respective offices. The continuity in leadership reflects a clear mandate from the association’s members to build on the initiatives and industry engagement undertaken over the past two years.
At the backdrop of his re-election, Santosh Katariya expressed his gratitude to the association’s office bearers & managing committee for their continued confidence and renewed mandate which comes with a stronger focus on strengthening the competitiveness of India’s apparel ecosystem. He said “The past two years have been an enriching journey of new initiatives, learning, teamwork and progress. As we begin a new term, I, along with my entire team, look forward to working with renewed energy and commitment to take CMAI to new heights and deliver greater value to our members and the Indian apparel industry.”
Alongside Santosh Katariya, the association’s core leadership team has been re-elected, providing continuity across key areas including trade initiatives, government engagement, member services and administration.

The leadership team includes Rohit Munjal, Vice President & Chairman, Fair Sub Committee; Ankur Gadia, Vice President & Chairman, Government Subsidy & CSR Sub Committee. The administrative team will continue to be led by Naveen Sainani, Hon. Gen. Secretary, supported by Mukesh Jain, Hon. Jt. Gen. Secretary. Paresh Vora, Hon. Treasurer and Dinesh Nandu, Hon. Jt. Treasurer who will continue to oversee the association’s financial functions.
The continuity of the core leadership team is expected to enable CMAI to build on ongoing activities without disruption, while sharpening its focus on the evolving requirements of the apparel industry, particularly MSMEs.

The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) is the most representative association of the Indian apparel industry having over 7,000 members and serving more than 50,000 Retailers. Its Membership consists of Manufacturers, Exporters, Brands, and ancillary industry. CMAI advocates regarding policies and also guides and encourages its members on ESG related matters and initiatives. In 2019, CMAI launched the SU.RE initiative to encourage members to embrace sustainability.
Established over sixty-three years ago, CMAI has contributed immensely towards development of the industry. In 1978, CMAI had led the creation of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC). CMAI is also authorised by the Government of India to issue Certificate of Origin (Non-Preferential) to Exporters. CMAI is the only Indian Association that represents the entire Indian Apparel Industry & Trade on prestigious international forums such as International Apparel Federation (IAF) headquartered in Netherlands.
