TTAADC Village Committee Elections : TIPRA Motha wins 3,428 seats, BJP 859, Independents 173, CPI(M) 87, IPFT 33, INC 14: Commissioner.

Agartala, Tripura, 7th of October, 2026 :  Counting of votes for the Village Committee elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council concluded yesterday. According to the counting results, the Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) Motha party won 3,428 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party won 859 seats, independent candidates won 173 seats, CPI(M) won 87 seats, IPFT won 33 seats, and the Indian National Congress won 14 seats. As per the results, Tipra Motha secured a majority in 457 Village Committees, the Bharatiya Janata Party in 94 Village Committees, CPI(M) in 2 Village Committees, IPFT in 2 Village Committees, and independent candidates in 31 Village Committees. This was announced today by State Election Commissioner Dr. P.K. Chakraborty at a press conference held at the Secretariat’s press conference hall.

The Election Commissioner said that vote counting for the Village Committee elections was held yesterday at 45 counting halls across 44 counting centres statewide. A total of 5,33,808 voters within the ADC area exercised their voting right. In addition, there were 6,628 EDC (Election Duty Certificate) voters. Altogether, 5,40,436 voters exercised their franchise. The voter turnout stood at 81.29 percent. The Commissioner stated that Tipra Motha received 46.76 percent vote, the Bharatiya Janata Party 28 percent, CPI(M) 12.90 percent, independent candidates 7.74 percent, IPFT 2.74 percent and INC 1.86 percent of the votes. He informed that no nominations were filed for 3 seats.

State Election Commissioner Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty congratulated the voters, District Election Officers, all Returning Officers, Sector Officers, counting staff, as well as senior police administration officials and security personnel on duty, for ensuring the smooth and peaceful conduct of the vote count. He also thanked media representatives for their cooperation during polling and counting. State Election Commission Secretary Anurag Sen was present at the press conference.
