Khowai, Tripura, 14th of October, 2026 : The CPI(M) Khowai Sub-Divisional Committee organised a mass deputation, submitting a memorandum outlining various demands to Rimita Saha, Chief Executive Officer of the Municipal Council and Sub-Divisional Magistrate. She received the memorandum in her chamber at the Municipal Council office.
The delegation included former Vice-Chairman and CPI(M) Sub-Divisional Committee member Kanan Dutta, along with party leaders Gautam Pal, Shambhu Bhattacharya, Sayantika Deb and Biswajit Sinha. During the deputation, party Sub-Divisional Committee member Manoj Das addressed a gathering held in front of the Municipal Council office. The meeting was presided over by Alay Roy, a member of the party’s District Committee.
CPI(M) supporters began a procession from the party’s Subhash Park Area Office. The procession passed through Subhash Park Market, Kohinoor Shopping Complex, Vivekananda Sarani, the road in front of Swapnapuri Guest House and N.C. Avenue. The procession continued past the District Hospital and Nivedita Park before crossing Jananeta Ranjan Roy Bridge and proceeding along State Bank Road. It eventually culminated in a gathering in front of the Municipal Council office.
During the deputation, Chief Executive Officer of the Municipal Council and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Rimita Saha expressed agreement with the demands raised by the delegation and assured them that effective measures would be taken in this regard.
