Sonamura, Tripura, 15th October, 2026 : On specific information of the Sonamura Police, in joint operations with 81th BN BSF and 11th BN TSR conducted raid and search at Kamalnagar, krishnadola under Sonamura PS and recovered 327.700 Kg Dry Cannabis (Ganja) on Wednesday (14th July, 2026) last night.
According to sources, Sonamura Police conducted search at Kamalnagar krishnadola area and recovered and seized total 327.700 KGS dry ganja into 07 no,s plastic drum as unclaimed. After that seized it after observing all legal formalities as unclaimed.
A large-scale destruction operation was conducted under Sonamura Police station leading by Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station covering with support from 81 BN BSF and 11th BN TSR.
The destination market value of the seized ganja is approximately to beOne Crore Sixty-Three Lakh Eighty-Five Thousand Only
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said that Sonamura police has started an investigation as to who could be the owner of these illegal seizes ganja.
OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
