Six Drop Gates In Dharmanagar To Manage Puja Crowds, CCTV Surveillance In Place.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 18th of October, 2026 : The Dharmanagar Traffic Department has introduced special traffic management measures to control congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement in the city during Durga Puja. Traffic Inspector Jayanta Malakar shared details of the arrangements, stating that several measures have been taken to regulate vehicular movement, enforce no-entry restrictions, and strengthen security during the festive days.

According to the Traffic Department, no-entry restrictions will remain in force across Dharmanagar town every day from 5 PM to midnight, from the 17th to the 21st. However, the timings may be changed depending on special circumstances. Citizens have therefore been urged to follow the traffic police’s instructions while travelling through the town during the Puja celebrations.A total of six drop gates will be installed to regulate traffic movement in the city. In addition, CCTV cameras will monitor five important locations.

Plans have also been made to enforce no-entry restrictions at the entry points of 36 narrow roads across the town. These measures are aimed at managing the festive crowds and ensuring the safety of visitors.For public convenience, police assistance booths will be set up at eight locations across the city. These booths will provide necessary assistance and guidance to visitors. The Traffic Department and police administration are making preparations to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure that people can visit the Durga Puja pandals without inconvenience.

Traffic Inspector Jayanta Malakar extended his heartfelt Durga Puja greetings and best wishes to the people of Dharmanagar and the entire North District.
