Sabroom, Tripura, 5th of November, 2026 : Ahead of the upcoming Sabroom Nagar Panchayat elections, candidates representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from all nine wards formally submitted their nomination papers on Thursday (5th November, 2026). The nominations were filed at around 1 PM before Sabroom Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Returning Officer Suman Rakshit.
The programme was attended by Hon’ble Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, BJP South District President Dipayan Chowdhury, 39-Manu Assembly constituency MLA Mailafru Mog, along with other senior party leaders and workers.
The candidates contesting the Sabroom Nagar Panchayat elections across its nine wards are as follows:
- Ward No. 1: Ranjit Das (SC)
- Ward No. 2: Kamala Rani Chakma (ST)
- Ward No. 3: Shikha Majumdar Das (Women-SC)
- Ward No. 4: Shantipriya Bhowmik (Unreserved)
- Ward No. 5: Debashis Chakraborty (Unreserved)
- Ward No. 6: Purnima Bhowmik (Women-UR)
- Ward No. 7: Pashmi Dey Roy Chowdhury (Women-UR)
- Ward No. 8: Biplab Bikash Dey (Unreserved)
- Ward No. 9: Manorama Basak (Women-UR)
The nomination filing process was marked by enthusiasm and active participation from party leaders and supporters. Addressing the gathering, BJP leaders expressed confidence that BJP candidates would secure victories by huge margins in every ward of the Sabroom Nagar Panchayat in the upcoming elections and continue the ongoing development initiatives.
