The Centre verbal commitment to the Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) Motha part’s appointment of an interlocutor has left the party in a quandary. If the time limit is exceeded, TIPRA Motha party called for a hunger strike as an alternative. The work started from the afternoon (29th March, 2023) and preparation of the soil of a part of Baramura i.e Hathaikotor hill of Champaknagar and preparations are going on.
On the other hand Police administration is also keeping on them. A representative of the TIPRA Motha party said that Indian Home Minister Amit Shah did not speak and did not give any written statement on the interlocutor incident. So first hunger strike and if written promise is not given by Indian Government in appointing interlocutor then they will go on hunger strike not only in Baramura hill but also block the railway road except the tribal people of Tripura state.
