With the initiative of CPI(M) wing Ganamukti Parishad (GMP) road rally cum deputation has been given to the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Teliamura under Khowai District on Friday (30th, June 2023). Ganamukti Parishad (GMP) organization has given deputation with the aim of realizing 8 point demands. Demanding fulfillment of the items the Ganamukti Parishad (GMP) organization activists have marched from Tui Madhu area and gathered at Teliamura Sub Divisional office premises at Chakmaghat.
A six-member delegation including Central Committee member of Ganamukti Parishad (GMP) Swasti Debbarma, Khowai divisional committee Secretary Arun Debbarma, former MDC Dhananjay Debbarma handed over the memorandum to Sub Divisional Magistrate Abhijit Chakraborty support of the eight-point demand. As per the report, the demands are- 1. Repeal of Forest Conservation Act 2023, 2. Election of village committee in ADC immediately, 3. To increase the wages of MGNREGA, 4. Inclusion of Kokborok language in the eighth schedule, 5. Three more demands including financial assistance to Jhumias affected due to lack of rain.
Meanwhile, during the deputation, Radha Charan Debbarma, former chief executive member of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) and others addressed the gathering at the Sub Divisional Magistrate’s office premises.
