Hon’ble Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on May 29 announced that those children who have lost both parents or guardian due to COVID-19 will be supported under the ‘Mukhyamantri Balya Seva Parikalpana’ (CM-CARES for Children) scheme. The ‘Mukhyamantri Balya Seva Prakalpa’(Chief Ministers Children Service Scheme), a special package to take responsibility of ensuring education to children of Covid victims till the age of 18.
The state government has decided to provide financial assistance of Rs 3,500 for the children up to 18 years of age if they are taken care of by the relatives or a guardian. After completion of Matriculation (Class-X board exam), the government would provide these children with either a laptop or a tablet for their educational purpose. CM also said that the state government will give financial assistance of Rs 50,000 for the girls during their marriage.
