Amarpur, Tripura, 17th of September 2024 : Local indigenous people of Nagrai, Harung Para and Bongshi Para under Ampi Nagar block in Gomati district are facing acute communication hindrance rapidly. Their only main road from Nagrai High School to Bongshi Para via Harung Para about 3 km distance is in dilapidated condition. This brick soiling road has become totally damaged. The road has turned into a death trap at present. Due to constant rain its sides have been collapsed, here and there uncountable holes, potholes and heaps of mud have created critical obstacle for the pedestrians and vehicles.

A villager said, “We have appealed many times to the concerned block authority to do maintenance on this road but there is no any positive response till the date. In every year during raining season we are suffering much for last 10 years. We can not take vehicle to handle emergency cases like to take patient or pregnant woman to hospital or other emergency issues. During raining time we face great problem to go to other places for our needs.” The concerned authority must visit the road and take an immediate initiative to provide relief these victim indigenous villagers, demand locals.
