
Border Security Force has been religiously pursuing its commitment to contribute in making “Tripura – A Drug Free State” by regularly conducting ‘Anti-Narcotics Smuggling Drives’ independently as well as in close association with Tripura Police & other sister agencies deployed in the State.
On 25th Sept 2021, BSF Intelligence Team of Teliamura along with the troops of 64 Bn BSF conducted a joint operation with Police party of Police Station-Manu, District Dhalai. During the operation, party intercepted a 12 wheelers Truck (PB 08 DS 9923) plying towards Manu (Dhalai) from Teliamura side on NH-8 &successfully recovered huge consignment of “Dry Ganja weighing 169.2 Kgs”, which was clandestinely hidden in the said truck and also apprehended one civilian namely Pintu Mia (25 Yrs) S/o Shahjahan Mia R/o Village- Rajdhan Nagar, Police Station- RK Pur, District- Gomati (Tripura)suspected to be involved in the crime. The apprehended person along with seized Ganja & Truck was handed over to PS- Manu on the spot for further legal action.
Besides above, vigilant troops of BSF Tripura also seized 780 Bottles of Phensedyl / Eskuf Syrup & contraband having collective value of Rs. 44,88,981/- in different operations on Indo-Bangladesh International Borders, during last night.
BSF Tripura is regularly conducting such special drives against trans-border smugglers particularly those dealing with the Narcotics/drugs, with an intention of neutralizing their nefarious design in the State of Tripura.
