Agartala, Tripura, 14th of January, 2025 : With The Initiative of Information & Cultural Affairs Department Government of Tripura and Sanskar Bharati, Tripura Two-day Poush Parban festival has been organized at Alpana village of Lankamura, Agartala, Tripura on Tuesday (14th January, 2025).

In the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Governor of Telangana and former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. The guests offered flowers to the statue of Nataraja, the symbol of Alpana village.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Paush Parvan festival Hon’ble Governor of Telangana Jishnu Dev Varma said that Alpana village is the custodian and bearer of the tradition of rural culture. The word of Alpana village has now spread beyond the borders of the state to the country and abroad. The Sanskar Bharati, Tripura region has a special role in the creation of Alpana village. He said, Paush Sankranti is linked to our culture and tradition. He expressed the hope that Alpana village will play a more important role in the development of rural culture of Tripura in the future.

Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA Dipak Majumder, Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), Corporator Mitra Rani Das (Majumder), The three social organizations that won the Alpana competition were awarded at the event. The guests handed over the awards to the representatives of the winning social organizations. The event was presided over by Subal Biswas, President of Sanskar Bharati-Tripura region. A two-day cultural program has also been organized in Alpana village on the occasion of Paush Parvan festival.
