TIUT Announces Major Academic Developments at Press Meet in Agartala.

Agartala, Tripura, 10th of July 2025 : Techno India University, Tripura (TIUT) organized a press conference today at the Press Club, Agartala, to highlight its academic vision, new programmes, and scholarship opportunities for the academic session 2025–26. The conference reflected the progressive trajectory of the university under the visionary leadership of Shri Satyam Roychowdhury, Hon’ble Chancellor of TIUT and Managing Director of Techno India Group, whose commitment to educational excellence continues to drive institutional growth and student empowerment.The event was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Kumar Saha, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of TIUT in presence of Shri Kaushik Sarkar, Deputy Director of Techno India Group; Dr. Shiladitya Munshi, Dean (In-Charge), School of Engineering & Architecture; Shri Abhijit Bhattacharjee, Head (In-Charge), Department of English and Students’ Welfare Officer; Dr.Shukdeb Acharjee, Head (In-Charge), Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology; and Shri Somnath Roy, Registrar (In-Charge).

The Vice-Chancellor informed the press about the recent allotment of 20 seats each through the Tripura Joint Entrance Examination’s (TBJEE)PCB and PCM counselling streams in 9 programmes such as B. Tech. Computer Science& Engineering (Core, AI & ML, and IoT), B.Tech. Biotechnology,B.Sc. Agriculture, B.Sc. Microbiology, B.Sc. Fisheries, B.Sc. Biotechnology, and B.Sc. Bioinformatics. This development marks a significant recognition of TIUT’s academic stature at the state and national levels. The University isofferingspecial scholarship provisions for those taking admission through the TBJEE counselling process, in addition to its existing in-house merit-based scholarships and access to state and national-level scholarship schemes.Addressing the media, Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Kumar Saha said, “We express sincere gratitude to the Government of Tripura for this recognition, which marks a milestone in the university’s journey toward becoming more accessible and integrated with the state’s academic ecosystem.We are committed to nurturing local talent and making quality education affordable and inclusive, playing a significant role in transforming Tripura into a vibrant education hub, empowering the next generation of professionals”

The University has also launched several paramedical programmes including B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT), Medical Radiographic Technology (BMRT), Dialysis Technology (BDT), Cardiac Care Technology (BCCT), and Operation Theatre Technology (BOTT), aligning with the university’s commitment to interdisciplinary and healthcare education.Speaking on this expansion, Shri Kaushik Sarkar noted, “These programs are designed to meet the increasing demand for trained healthcare professionals in the region. We are not only addressing employability but also contributing to public health infrastructure.”

Currently, TIUT offers 52 diverse academic programs spanning undergraduate, postgraduate, and certificate levels, including AICTE approved programmes like B.Tech. in CSE (Core, AI & ML, IoT), Biotechnology, BCA, MCA, BBA, MBA; BCI approved programmes like B.A. L.L.B; B.Sc. Agriculture, B.Sc. Fisheries; Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in English, Journalism and Mass Communication, Commerce etc. These are distributed across eight schools – School of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Law, School of Engineering & Architecture, School of Natural Sciences, School of Agriculture, School of Fisheries, School of Commerce, Management & Economics, and School of Health Science & Translation Research. TIUT has also begun offering Ph.D. programmes from the 2025–26 academic session, which is a remarkable landmark towards its commitment to research.

Through its growing academic infrastructure and focus on inclusive education, Techno India University, Tripura continues to establish itself as a dynamic institution contributing meaningfully to the educational and professional landscape of the state.
