Khowai, Tripura, 10th of August 2025 : Tripura’s Khowai city has achieved the Ministerial Award for Promising Swachh Shehar (Promising Clean City) at the 9th Swachh Survekshan 2024–25 Awards (Theme: “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”). Hon’ble President of India, Droupadi Murmu conferred the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, in a ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
With the initiative of Khowai Municipal Council organized celebration ceremony to marks on khowai city has achieved the ministerial award for Promising Swachh Shehar (Promising Clean City) at Town Hall, Khowai on Saturday (9th August). At this event, Municipal employees, journalists were felicitated.
Addressing at the event Chairperson of the Khowai Municipal Council Debasish Nath Sharma said that The award was received by the Government of India. The biggest contribution to receiving this award was made by all the staff and residents of the municipal area.
Amidst the distinguished dignitaries participants there were Debasish Nath Sharma, Chairperson of the Khowai Municipal Council, Nibash Saha, Councilor Shanku Pal and many other distinguished dignitaries were present in the celebration ceremony.
