Sonamura, Tripura, 20th of August 2025 : On specific information of the Sonamura Police Station secret operation was launched in Sonamura on Wednesday (20th August, 2025). Sonamura Police, arrested one man and seized a total of 67.400 Kg dry cannabis.
According to sources, Sonamura Police Station arrested one (1) man and seized a total of 67.400 Kg dry cannabis which was kept in 4 plastic bags from his house. He said that he would send these to Bangladesh. In this regard, a case was registered against him in Sonamura police station under the NDPS section. And Sonamura police station has started an investigation as to who could be the owner of these illegal contrabands. Many more people from that area may be arrested in this case. Tomorrow he will be sent to the Court for appropriate police remand, and this cannabis is sold in Bangladesh for about ₹20000 per kg, which can be sold here for about 8 lakh 4 thousand, he said.
