Distribution Of Offer Of Appointment To The Medical Officers.

Agartala, Tripura, 26th of August 2025 : With the initiative of State Government of Tripura organized Distribution of Offer of Appointment to the Medical Officers in collaboration with the Health & Family Welfare Department at Pragna Bhavan, Agartala, Tripura on Tuesday (26th August, 2025). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

Addressing at the Distribution of Offer of Appointment to the Medical Officers programme Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that the State Government has taken various initiatives to provide better health services to the people of the State. Earlier, due to the shortage of specialist doctors in the State, specialist doctors could not be provided in hospitals in every district or subdivision of the State. Currently, with the appointment of 45 specialist doctors, that deficiency can be filled to some extent. In the future, the State Government will take initiatives to appoint more specialist doctors.

The Chief Minister also said that in line with the needs of the people of the State, the State Government is working to take forward the trend of development in various fields including medical services. The number of doctors in various health centers has been increased since 2018. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal is to build a self-reliant India by improving the skills of the educated youth. Tripura is also gradually becoming self-reliant in various fields. Due to the improvement in the state’s medical services, the number of patient referrals to other states has decreased significantly. The Chief Minister expressed the hope that the newly appointed specialist doctors will dedicate themselves to serving the people of the state. The Chief Minister handed over the appointment letters to the specialist doctors.

Addressing at the event, Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department Kiran Gitte said that 215 doctors will be recruited in the State to fill the shortage of doctors. Various District and Sub-divisional hospitals have already been modernized. Work is underway to improve medical infrastructure across the state. Providing better medical services to the people of the state is one of the goals of the State Government.

Additional Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department Rajib Datta, delivered the welcome address at the event.  Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Mission Director for the National Health Mission (NHM)  Saju Vaheed, Director of Medical Education Department, Dr. H. P. Sharma, Director of Family Welfare & Preventive Medicine Dr. Anjan Das and many other distinguished dignitaries were present in the event.
