Agartala, Tripura, 28th of August, 2025 : The Executive Committee meeting of the Tripura Rural Economic Growth and Service Delivery Project (TRESP) was held on Wednesday (27th August 2025) at 11:00 AM in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Tribal Welfare under the chairmanship of Dr. K. Sashi Kumar, IFS, Secretary of Tribal Welfare. The meeting was attended by Sri Subhasis Das, Director of Tribal Welfare, Sri T. K. Chakma, IAS, CEO of TRLM, Sri Saurav Das, TCS, Deputy Director of SIPARD, senior officials from the Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, ARDD, Fisheries, Education, DoIT, and PWD, along with sector specialists of TRESP and PIU representatives.
Dr. Kumar conducted a department-wise review, identified gaps, and directed nodal officers to take immediate corrective measures. He emphasized the need for greater field-level coordination among PIUs, PMU, and district/block teams for faster and more effective execution of activities. He instructed TRLM to release pending funds to Producer Groups (PGs) through Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) at one go and to hold regular coordination meetings with livelihood-related departments. Departments such as Agriculture, Fisheries, and ARDD were advised to expedite Business Development Plans (BDPs) to strengthen producer groups and enhance rural income generation.
The Secretary also gave attention to the requirements of support agencies like SIPARD and T-SAC, and accord approvals for smooth implementation. Concluding the meeting, Dr. Kumar called upon all departments to adopt a field-oriented and collaborative approach, ensuring better outcomes and stronger impact for rural communities under TRESP.
