Agartala,Tripura, 2nd of September, 2025 : With the initiative of was Rural Development (Panchayat Division), Department Government of Tripura organized the two-day Capacity Building & Training Programme on Effective Local Governance in collaboration with the Bharat Initiative Foundation at Arundhutinagar, Agartala, Tripura on Tuesday (2nd September, 2025).

Addressing at the closing ceremony of the two-day Capacity Building & Training Programme on Effective Local Governance Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu stated that Elected Panchayat members are the guiding force behind local development. They are problem-solvers at the Panchayat level and symbols of public trust. Empowering every village, every family, and every individual in the village is a fundamental duty of elected Panchayat members. The Governor also added that the responsibility of elected representatives is to enhance local-level skills and create opportunities for sustainable livelihoods through various development schemes of the Central and State Governments. He expressed hope that the villages of the state would become attractive and vibrant for the next generation.

Addressing at the event, Panchayat Minister Kishore Barman said that this training programme will play a supportive role in enhancing the skills and leadership of elected representatives. Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu presented certificates of participation to the chairpersons.

Director of Bharat Initiative Foundation, N. K. Gilani delivered a welcome address at the closing ceremony of the two-day Capacity Building & Training Programme on Effective Local Governance today. In today’s programme apart from the Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu, officials of Panchayat department and many others remained present in this event.
