Agartala, Tripura, 13th of August 2025 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Saturday (13th September, 2025) night. According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested two (2) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station, and seized a total of 06.305 Kg dry cannabis (Ganja). They wanted to take it to other state by train using Agartala railway station.
According to sources, GRP & RPF of Agartala, at about 9 PM to caught one man and one woman namely Nitish Kumar (25) S/O – Sri Anil Thakur of Mankrandpur PO-Laxmipur PS- Pirpainti, Bhagalpur, Bihar and Chanda Kumari (24) D/O Sri Jay prakash Mandal of Barohiya Ward no- 11 PO- Budhuchak PS- Kishundaspur, Bhagalpur State-Bihar. During their search GRP & RPF recovered one hand bag and one pitthu bag from their possession which containing total 06.305 Kg contraband Ganja. The value of this Ganja is Rs-1 Lakh approx in black market. GRP & RPF detained them from Agartala Railway station platform no-01 and seized the Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2025GRP091, U/S-20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against them.
