Agartala, Tripura, 18th of September, 2025 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Thursday (18 September, 2025) evening. According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested Two (2) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station, and seized a total 175 nos bottle of contraband Eskuf cough syrup. They wanted to take it to other state by train using Agartala railway station.
According to sources, GRP & RPF of Agartala, at about 5 PM to caught two person namely 1) Kishan Sarkar (27), S/O-Sri Shyamal Sarkar of Surendra Palli Ghosh Para, PO- East Pratapgarh, PS-East Agartala, West Tripura and 2) Pritam Sarkar (23) S/O-Sri Shyamal Sarkar of Surendra Palli Ghosh Para, PO- East Pratapgarh, PS-East Agartala, West Tripura. During their search we recovered two pitthu bags from their possession which containing total 175 nos bottle of contraband Eskuf cough syrup. The value of this cough syrup is Rs-1 Lakh approx in black market. Accordingly detained them from Agartala Railway station platform no-01 and seized the cough syrup. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2025GRP093, U/S-21(C)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against them.
