‘Unity March’ To Commemorate ‘Sardar @150’ Organized By Khowai District Administration.

Khowai, Tripura, 18th of November, 2025 : To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, through MY Bharat, is organising the nationwide Sardar@150 Unity March padyatra with an aim to deepen national pride, civic engagement, and youth participation across the country. Inspired by the ideas of Sardar Patel and the vision of Viksit Bharat articulated by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, the campaign encompasses a range of activities guided by the overarching theme of Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The initiative was launched on 6 October 2025 by Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Smt. Raksha Khadse, as part of the Government of India’s two-year celebrations (2024–2026), honouring the monumental contributions and enduring legacy of the Iron Man of India.

As a part of the on-ground initiatives, With the initiative of the Khowai District Administration and with the full cooperation of the Khowai District Youth Welfare and Sports Department, the ‘Unity March’ organized to commemorate ‘Sardar @150’ on Tuesday (18th November, 2025).

The rally started from the Khowai Kohinoor Complex premises and passes through various routes of Khowai town and end at Chebri Higher Secondary School premises.

At 7 a.m. in the Khowai Kohinoor Complex premises, the programme commenced with Khowai Zilla Parishad Chairperson Aparna Singh Ray Datta paid homage to the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Thereafter, the inaugurator and chief guest, Aparna Singh Ray Datta, offered floral homage to the portrait of India’s Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

Khowai District Magistrate & Collector  Rajat Pant, delivered the welcome address at the inaugural  Ceremony. After that, the guests waved the flag to give the green signal and formally inaugurated the ‘Unity March’. When the march reached Sonatala Gram Panchayat, the artistes of the Khowai Cultural Cell presented a delightful cultural performance. A tree-plantation programme titled ‘ ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan activity were also conducted there.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries participants there were Khowai Municipal Council Debasish Nath Sharma, Piyush Kanti Chowdhury, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Sports and Culture of Khowai Municipal Council, Co-convenor Kamalendu Shil, Assistant Director of the Khowai District Youth Welfare and Sports Department, Binay Debbarma, Satyendra Chandra Das and many other distinguished dignitaries were present in the ceremony.
