Agartala, Tripura, 24th of November 2025 : The State Government has decided to regularize the Ad-hoc promotion policy for Government employees that was introduced in 2021. This decision was taken in the State cabinet meeting. Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced this at a press conference at the Secretariat today (24th November, 2025).
The Tourism minister stated that since a related case was pending before the Supreme Court, the State Government had adopted an Ad-hoc policy for the promotion of Government employees.
According to that policy, till June 2025, more than 13,082 State Government employees received promotions on an ad-hoc basis. However, after retirement, they were facing financial disadvantages. Considering the overall situation and in the interest of the employees, the State Government has decided to bring all categories of employees — including retired employees, under the benefits of regularization. Mr. Chowdhury also added that this decision has been taken to the final verdict of the case pending in the Supreme Court.
