Sonamura, Tripura, 24th of November 2025 : On specific information of the Sonamura Police secret operation was launched in Sonamura on Monday (24th November, 2025). According to the sources Sonamura Police arrested One (1) drug peddlers.
On the afternoon of 15th November, 2025, in a joint operation conducted by Sonamura Police Station and the 81st Battalion BSF, two drug peddlers — Babul Mia and his wife Mursheda Begum — were detained. From their operation, illegal firearms, 4 rounds of ammunition, a meat-cutting cleaver, 100 Diaz pump tablets, two mobile phones, 150 empty Eskuf bottles, and a total of 10 grams of Yaba tablets were seized. They have now been arrested and are currently in jail.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station state that On charges of being involved in this case, this drug peddler has been arrested. It is expected that many more drug dealers from that area may be arrested soon. His name is Alamgir Hossain (34), resident old cinema hall under Sonamura Police Station in Sonamura, Sepahijala, Tripura.
