Agartala, Tripura, 24th of November 2025 : To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, through MY Bharat, is organising the nationwide Sardar@150 Unity March padyatra with an aim to deepen national pride, civic engagement, and youth participation across the country. Inspired by the ideas of Sardar Patel and the vision of Viksit Bharat articulated by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, the campaign encompasses a range of activities guided by the overarching theme of Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The initiative was launched on 6 October 2025 by Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Smt. Raksha Khadse, as part of the Government of India’s two-year celebrations (2024–2026), honouring the monumental contributions and enduring legacy of the Iron Man of India.
As a part of the on-ground initiatives, With the initiative of the Youth Affairs and Sports Department Government of Tripura the ‘Unity March’ organized to commemorate ‘Sardar @150’ on Monday (24th November, 2025).
The rally started from in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Circuit House, Agartala passes through various routes of Agartala city.
Addressing at the Unity March event Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that a series of programmes was organised across the country to remember the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s work for the country’s unity and protection of its sovereignty.

Dr. Saha said this after flagging off the observance of Sardar@150 Unity March in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Circuit House, today.
He said that on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, many programmes were organised in every state to remember him, his work for the nation, and his tireless efforts to protect its sovereignty.
“He also worked to bring all the princely states together. From 1947 to 1949, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel worked for the unity of the country, and to remember him and his contribution, a series of programmes have been organised. Debate competitions were also organised at school and college levels,” said Dr. Saha.
Dr. Saha further informed that he will leave for Gujarat tomorrow to attend the Padayatra there.

“All the Chief Ministers have been asked to attend the Padayatra, and discussions will be held at various stoppages. Many youths are still unaware of him and youths must be aware of his contribution. Conspiracies are underway to damage the unity of our country, and we are keeping a close eye on them,” he said.
He further added that the state government has give over 20,000 jobs in Tripura and in the coming days more job opportunities will be offered and this will continue.

Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Tinku Roy, In-charge Sabhadhipati of Paschim Tripura Zila Parishad Biswajit Shil, Padma Shri Dipa Karmakar, Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs Department PK Chakraborty, West District Magistrate Vishal Kumar, SP Namit Pathak, Director of Information and Cultural Affairs Department Bimbisar Bhattacharya and many other dignitaries were present at the event.
