Closing Ceremony Of Khelo Tripura Para Games-2025.

Agartala, Tripura, 17th of December 2025 : With the initiative of Social Welfare & Social Education and Sports & Youth Affairs department Government of Tripura was organized two-day Khelo Tripura Para Games-2025 at Dasarath Deb State Sports Complex, Badharghat, Agartala, Tripura on Monday (15th December, 2025).  The closing ceremony was held on Tuesday (16th December, 2025).

Addressing at theclosing ceremony Hon’ble Social Welfare and Social Education Minister and Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Tinku Roy said that, the present State Government is making efforts to ensure that 100 percent of persons with disabilities are brought under the social pension schemes. To make this initiative fully successful, people from all sections of the state must extend their cooperation. The minister said that Divyangjan persons should never be treated with neglect. In many ways, their talents are astonishing everyone. He informed that while persons with disabilities in the state receive a monthly pension of ₹2,000, a decision has been taken to provide ₹5,000 per month to them. Special attention must be given to ensure that all eligible individuals get themselves properly registered with the concerned departments.

The Social Welfare and Social Education Minister also added that the Tripura Para Games were launched in 2023 with the objective of encouraging Divyangjans and making them aware of their rights. Gradually, the scale of this event is expanding. Two officials from the Indian Olympic Association visited the state this year to observe the games and highly appreciated the organizers for successfully conducting the event. He expressed hope that in the coming days, athletes with disabilities from the state will increasingly represent Tripura at national and international levels.

Presiding over the function, acting Sabhadhipati of the West Tripura Zilla Parishad, Biswajit Shil said that the present state government is committed to protecting the rights of Divyangjans. The organization of this competition reflects the sincerity of the state government. The welcome address was delivered by Tapan Kumar Das, Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education . Amidst the distinguished dignitaries participants there were Chairperson of the Tripura State Commission for Women Jharna Debbarma, Chairperson of the Child Rights Protection Commission Jayanti Debbarma, Secretary of the Tripura Sports Council Sukanta Ghosh, Director of the Youth Affairs and Sports Department L. Darlong, among others. At the ceremony, winners of the two-day-long competition were felicitated, and the guests handed over prizes to them.
