Agartala, Tripura, 17th of December 2025 : With the objective of developing the Tripura Tea industry and enhancing the acceptance and popularity of “Tripura Tea” at all levels, as in previous years, the Tripura Tea Development Corporation, with the support of the Tea Board of India, organized a running competition titled “Run for Tea” on Wednesday (17th December, 2025).

The rally start from in front of Tea Corner, Birchandra State Central Library Agartala, and passes through various routes of Agartala city IGM Chowmuhani, Paradise Chowmuhani, Post office Chowmuhani, Surjya Chowmuhani, Kaman Chowmuhani, Jackson Gate, Orient Chowmuhani, Old RMS, IGM Chowmuhani return at Tea Corner, Birchandra State Central Library.
A 3-kilometre running competition has been organized for boys and girls. In the Run for Tea event award cash prizes along with certificates to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in both the boys’ and girls’ categories. The prize money is as 1st Prize: ₹5,000,2nd Prize: ₹3,000, 3rd Prize: ₹2,000.In addition, 10 more participants awarded a prize of ₹1,000 each.
On the occasion of Run for Tea 2025, an open rally organized and citizens from various sections of society participate in the rally.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Santana Chakma, Hon’ble Social Welfare & Social Education, Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA Dipak Majumder, West Tripura Zilla Saha-Sabhadipati Biswajit Shil, Padma Shri awardee Dipa Karmakar and many other distinguished dignitaries were participated in the rally. The programme presided over by the Chairman of the Tripura Tea Development Corporation, Advocate Samir Ranjan Ghosh.
