Agartala, Tripura, 27th of December, 2025 : Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly Biswa Bandhu Sen was passed away, on Friday (26th December, 2025) morning at around 3:30 am. He breathed his last during treatment at Hospital in Bengaluru.
Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly Biswa Bandhu Sen’s body has arrived at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, Agartala, Tripura on Saturday (27th December, 2025) at afternoon flight. Arrival of his body at MBB Airport, tributes were paid by Hon’ble Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly Ram Prasad Pal, MLA Bhagaban Chandra Das, West Tripura District Magistrate and Collector Dr. Vishal Kumar, Superintendent of Police of West Tripura District Namit Pathak, Additional Secretary of the Tripura Legislative Assembly Biplab Das, and many other distinguished dignitaries.
Thereafter, the mortal remains of the late Speaker were taken in a procession to the Tripura Legislative Assembly premises. Floral tributes were paid to the mortal remains of late Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly Biswa Bandhu Sen by Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Hon’ble Power, Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Hon’ble Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Hon’ble Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Hon’ble Industries & Commerce, Jail (Home), OBC Welfare Minister Santana Chakma, Hon’ble Youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education, Minister Tinku Roy, Hon’ble SC Welfare, ARD, Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das, Cooperative Minister Sukla Charan Noatia, Hon’ble Forest, Science & Technology Minister Animesh Debbarma, Opposition leader of Tripura Legislative Assembly Jitendra Chaudhary, TTAADC Chairman Jagadish Debbarma, along with other Members of the Tripura Legislative Assembly.
President of Agartala Press Club Pranab Sarkar, Joint Director of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department Manoj Kumar Saha, Editor of the Dainik Sambad Sanjay Pal, as well as officers, MLAs, other ministers, and employees of the Tripura Legislative Assembly also paid their last homage to Speaker.
After the condolence ceremony, TSR jawans led by Nayak Subedar Jitendra Debbarma of the 7th Battalion of the Tripura State Rifles rendered a ceremonial salute in honour of the late Speaker. This was followed by the observance of a two-minute silence.
