Late Speaker Of The Tripura Legislative Assembly Biswa Bandhu Sen Last Rites Held With State Honours In Dharmanagar.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 28th of December, 2025 : The last rites of late Tripura Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen were performed with full state honours on Sunday (28th December, 2025) in Dharmanagar. The mortal remains of the late Speaker Bishwabandhu Sen reached his residence in Dharmanagar on Saturday (27th December, 2025).

Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly Biswa Bandhu Sen was passed away, on Friday (26th December, 2025) morning at around 3:30 am. He breathed his last during treatment at Hospital in Bengaluru. Speaker B.B Sen’s body was arrived at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, Agartala, Tripura on Saturday (27th December, 2025) at afternoon flight.

Last night, Hon’ble Industries & Commerce, Jail (Home), OBC Welfare Minister Santana Chakma, Chairperson of the North Tripura Zilla Parishad Aparna Nath, Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Rani Das Sen, among others, visited the residence in Dharmanagar to pay their last respects.

This morning, the mortal remains of the late Speaker were first brought to the Ramthakur Ashram. From there, a mourning procession passed through various routes of Dharmanagar town. During the procession, social workers, artists, poets, litterateurs, playwrights, and countless members of the public paid their respects to the mortal remains of the late Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen. Later, the mortal remains were taken to the Dharmanagar cremation ground.

There, Hon’ble Industries & Commerce, Jail (Home), OBC Welfare Minister Santana Chakma,, Hon’ble Chief Whip of Tripura Legislative Assembly and MLA Kalyani Roy, Chairperson of the North Tripura Zilla Parishad Aparna Nath, MLA Binay Bhushan Das, MLA Jadavlal Debnath, Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Rani Das Sen, District Magistrate & Collector Chandni Chandran, Superintendent of Police Sudhambika R., Additional District Magistrate Bijay Sinha, Additional Superintendent of Police Kamal Debbarma, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Dharmanagar Devyani Choudhury, social worker Kajal Kumar Das, social worker Shyamal Nath, chairpersons of various Panchayat Samitis, Wakf Board Chairman Mambar Ali, former MLA Malina Debnath, members of the North Tripura Zilla Parishad, and other officials of the district administration, among others, paid their respects to the mortal remains.

After the condolence ceremony, a gun salute was accorded by a joint contingent of the Tripura Police and the TSR.
