Chief Minister Of Tripura Dr. Manik Saha  Graces Chorei Khambar Festival At Damcherra.

Agartala, Tripura, 11th of January, 2026 : With the initiative of Young Chorei Association organized Chorei Khambar Festival at Phaikhuo Ground, Narendranagar, Damcherra in Tripura on Sunday (11th January, 2026). Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha graced the  Chorei Khambar Festival today.

At the traditional festival Chorei Khambar Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that  the new Tripura must be built by bringing together all castes and tribal communities of the State. He emphasized that culture is our true ornament and added that we must live with our culture and preserve it for future generations.

Addressing at the event the Chief Minister said that the Northeast has progressed due to the implementation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Act East Policy, and that an atmosphere of peace has returned to the region. He emphasized that we are all human beings and there is no greater identity than this. Stressing unity, he said that everyone must come together to build unity, and that the new Tripura must be built by including all castes and tribal communities of the state.

“The present Government is giving due respect to all tribal communities of Tripura, and that their talents are being recognized through honours such as the Padma Shri Award. Central and State governments have given special importance to the development of tribal communities. After the current government came to power in the state, the initiative to provide honorary allowances to tribal community leaders was started. Initially, an honorarium of ₹2,000 per month was given, which was later increased to ₹5,000 per month. Steps have been taken to ensure that the benefits of all Central government schemes reach everyone.”, Chief Minister added.

“Around 700 different tribal communities in India, and that the Central government has undertaken one or more development schemes for each of them. A significant portion of the state budget is being spent on tribal development, and that all work is being carried out with transparency. Because of the prevailing atmosphere of peace in the state, NITI Aayog has highly praised Tripura.”, CM Dr. Saha said.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said that education leads people from darkness to light. Tripura cannot progress unless tribal communities develop, a viewpoint that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly expressed.

Highlighting the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Saha remarked that earlier, extremist problems were widespread in the northeastern states, but those issues have now been addressed, enabling the Northeast to move forward on an equal footing with other regions of the country. Prime Minister has called for building a Developed India by 2047, and that the state has taken steps to build a Developed Tripura within the same timeframe.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy, Chairperson of the North Tripura Zilla Parishad Aparna Nakh, MLA Jadab Lal Debnath, Social activists Purna Manik Charei, Kajal Kumar Das and Vivekananda Das, and many other distinguished  dignitaries were present in the event.
