Agartala, Tripura, 12th of January, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Monday (12th January, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested two (2) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized a total of 220 nos bottles of purported to be contraband narcotic Eskuf (cough syrup).
According to sources, GRP & RPF of Agartala at about at about 10 PM Railway Police arrested two persons namely Dharamjeet Kumar (19), S/O Ram Babu Ray of Kalanpur, PO+PS- Athmolgola, Dist- Patna, Bihar and Shivam Kumar (20) S/O Sanjoy Kumar of Rustompur, PO- Raghab PS- Rustompur, Dist- Vaishali, Bihar at Agartala Railway Station on platform no-01 near Pay & use toilet along with total 220 nos. bottles of purported to be contraband narcotic Eskuf (cough syrup) in Black colour bags.
The value of this Ganja is Rs- 3.5 Lakh approx in black market. Accordingly Railway Police detained them and seized the contraband total 220 nos bottles of Eskuf (cough syrup). A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP005, U/S-21 (C)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against them.
