Sonamura, Tripura, 14th of January, 2026 : On specific information of the Sonamura Police in joint secret operations with 81 BN BSF was launched in Sonamura , Tripura on Wednesday (14th January, 2026). Sonamura Police and other agencies, recovered and seized total 12 Kg Dry Cannabis (Ganja) and 2.05 kg Yaba Tablets
According to the Police during patrolling duty raid and searched at NC Nagar border road recovered and seized total 12 kg DRY ganja and 2.05 kg Yaba Tablets. After that seized it after observing all legal formalities as unclaimed.
The destination market value of the seized 12 Kg dry Cannabis approximately 1 lakh 50 thousand and 2.05 kg Yaba Tablets 1 crore only.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said that Sonamura police has started an investigation as to who could be the owner of these illegal seizes ganja and Yaba Tablets. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
