Agartala, Tripura, 16th of January, 2026 : With The Initiative of NIT Agartala 18th Convocation Ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 3:00 PM. The convocation will take place at the Swami Vivekananda Seminar Hall of NIT Agartala.Dr Sarat Kumar Patra Director of NIT Agartala said at the press conference today.

Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indra Sena Reddy Nallu will be present as the Chief Guest and the keynote speaker at the 18th convocation ceremony on Saturday.
The Chairperson of the Board of Governors (BoG) of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala, Binod Kumar Bawri, will preside over the function. The Director of NIT Agartala, Dr Sarat Kumar Patra, will confer certificates upon the students at the convocation ceremony.
NIT Agartala is an important national-level educational institution. It was established by the Government of India with the objective of achieving excellence in technical education and research in the North-Eastern region.
At present, 5,363 students are studying at NIT Agartala. The institute offers B.Tech degrees across various disciplines. At the M.Tech level, NIT Agartala provides 24 specializations, and dual degree programmes are offered in five branches. The institute also offers MBA, MCA, M.Sc., and doctoral programmes.
Since 2023, a four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme has been introduced at NIT Agartala. Currently, more than 300 research scholars are pursuing Ph.D programmes at the institute.
