Dharmanagar, Tripura, 15th of March, 2026 : Ahead of the upcoming by-election for the 56–Dharmanagar Assembly Constituency, an important all-party meeting was held under the initiative of the administration. The meeting took place in the conference hall of the office of the District Magistrate and Collector of North Tripura.Present at the meeting were North Tripura District Magistrate and District Election Officer Chandni Chandran, Superintendent of Police Abhinash Rai, Additional Superintendent of Police Kamal Debbarma, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Dharmanagar Debjani Chowdhury, along with officials from various administrative departments.

Representatives of several national and state-level political parties also participated in the meeting.The discussion mainly focused on ensuring the smooth and peaceful conduct of the upcoming by-election. Key issues included strict implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), finalization of the election expenditure rate chart, formation of various standing committees for election management, and other important election-related matters.
The administration urged representatives of political parties to strictly follow the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. They were also cautioned against any violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
During the meeting, representatives of different political parties also presented their opinions and suggestions on various issues. The administration stated that with the cooperation of all stakeholders, all necessary measures would be taken to ensure that the by-election is conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner.
