New Delhi, 16th of February, 2026 : Anjan Banik, the only science communicator and science teacher from Tripura to receive the prestigious National Award for Science & Technology Communication (2022–23) conferred by the National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC) under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, has been invited as a delegate to the globally significant India AI Impact Summit 2026.
Banik is also the only science teacher from Tripura and the first from the state to be nominated as a National Mentor (2025–26) under the National Mission for Mentoring, an initiative conducted by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Recognizing his national contributions to science education and communication, he has been invited as the sole science teacher and science communicator from the state to represent Tripura at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, organized for the first time by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and the IndiaAI Mission.

A Landmark Global AI Summit
The India AI Impact Summit 2026 is being held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi and marks the first global-scale AI summit of its kind hosted in the Global South. The summit aims to define a roadmap for Responsible, Inclusive, and Research-led Artificial Intelligence.
The event will be formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will also lead a high-level roundtable discussion with global CEOs and heads of state.
