Assam Rifles Battalion under the aegis of HQ Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) celebrated Independence Day as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign in Assam and Manipur state On 15 August 2023.
Flag hoisting ceremony were conducted at Battalion Headquarter at Srikona, district Cachar, Borobekra in District Jiribam, New Kaiphundai, Kaimai and Nungba in District Tamenglong, Manipur in conjunction with the local populace. Flag hoisting was also done in houses showcasing the feeling of patriotism by one and all.
Independence day was also celebrated with childrens of Gilgal Orphanage Home in village Phaitol in district Tamenglong, Manipur followed by sweet distribution.
