Agartala, Tripura, 14th of December, 2025 : With the initiative of Agartala Press Club organized Annual Awards Ceremony, Amiyo Debroy Memorial Award & Hiranyamay Chakraborty Memorial Award Ceremony at Agartala Press Club premises on Sunday (14th December, 2025).
The highly significant event came to an end in a joyful atmosphere at 5:00 PM at the Agartala Press Club, with the participation of both senior and youth journalists.
Hon’ble Social Welfare & Social Education, Sports Minister Tinku Roy was present as the chief guest at the Awards Ceremony and Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA Dipak Majumder special guest present at the event. The event was presided over by Pranab Sarkar, President of the Agartala Press Club.
At the event the Amiyo Debroy Memorial Award & Hiranyamay Chakraborty Memorial Award Ceremony for the years 2024 and 2025 were presented.
On the occasion, the Hiranyamay Chakraborty Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award for 2024 was conferred on Satyabrata Chakraborty, founder of the Agartala Press Club, while the Lifetime Achievement Award for 2025 was conferred on Subal Kumar Dey, senior editor and founder member of the Agartala Press Club.
Among the youth journalists, the Hiranyamay Chakraborty Memorial Award was presented to Chandrima Sarkar and Mrinal Kanti Banik. This year’s Amiyo Debroy Memorial Award was conferred on senior sports journalist Saraju Charkaborty.
The Sports Minister and other dignitaries presented the honoured and awards. In addition, prizes were presented to the winners of various sports competitions organized by the Agartala Press Club.
Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were Vice President of Agartala Press Club Chitra Roy, Secretary of Agartala Press Club Ramakanta Dey, Joint Secretary of Agartala Press Club Abhishek Dey, Treasurer Ranjan Roy, Executive Member Abhishek Debbarma, other members of Agartala Press Club and journalists were present at the ceremony.
