Agartala, Tripura, 29th of December, 2025 : The 44th Agartala Book Fair-2026 will start from 2nd January 2026 at the International Fair Ground, Hapania, Agartala, Tripura. The fair will continue till January 14, 2026.
On the occasion of the book fair, various programs have been organized by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department. These include a ‘Kabi Sammelan’ (Poetry Conference) from all eight districts of the state, panel discussions on various topics, book releases, quiz and extempore speech competitions, cultural programs, and more.
In addition, there will be a ‘Kabi Sammelan’ on one day featuring poets of the Kokborok language as well as other languages. Among the notable topics on which panel discussions will be held during the 13-day-long book fair are— “M. S. Swaminathan at His Birth Centenary”, “75 Years of the Indian Constitution,” “Mahasweta Devi Her Birth Centenary”, “Vivekananda the Wanderer,”“Vande Mataram”, “Awareness and Solutions for the Prevention of Child Marriage,” etc.
A debate competition will be organized for students at the University level, an extempore speech competition for students at the College level, and a quiz competition for students at the School level during the book fair. Moreover, every evening, captivating cultural programs will be presented by artists from various districts of the state.
