BSF Tripura is regularly giving big jolts to trans-border Narcotics Smugglers by seizing contraband articles with an aim to make “Tripura – A Drug Free State”.
On 07th July 2021, based on a specific Intelligence input, BSF troops of 74 Bn BSF conducted a joint operation along with officials of DRI Agartala and State Police officials of PS-Kalamchera in general area of Village- Dakshin Kalamchera, PS- Kalamchera, Sub Division- Sonamura, District- Sepahijala, Tripura. During the operation, party recovered huge consignment of “Dry Ganja weighing 582 Kgs worth Rs. 29,10,000/-”, which was clandestinely hidden at two different places in the Village- Dakshin Kalamchera and also apprehended one civilian namely Manik Debnath (approx. 38 Yrs) S/o Sadhan Debnath R/o Village- Dakshin Kalamchera suspected to be involved in the crime. The apprehended person along with seized Ganja was handed over to PS- Kalamchera on the spot for further legal action.
BSF Tripura is committed to conduct such special drives against trans-border smugglers particularly those dealing with the Narcotics / drugs, with an intention of neutralizing their nefarious design.
