BSF Seized Big Haul Of Narcotics & Contraband Worth Rs.85.49 Lakhs.

Border Security Force has been dutifully pursuing its commitment to contribute in making “Tripura – A Drug Free State” by regularly conducting ‘Anti-Narcotics Smuggling Drives’ independently as well as in close association with other sister Agencies. During different operations in intervening night of 24/25 Nov 2021, narcotics &assorted contraband articles having total collective value of Rs. 85,49,595/- have been seized which includes 4,000 Nos Yaba Tablets, 82.5 Kgs Ganja, 24 Bottles of Phensedyl Syrup & various medicines along with other contraband articles, rescued16 Nos Cattles Heads besides Indian Currency amounting to Rs. 9,115/- and also apprehended 01 suspect.

In one such special operation in wee hour of25th Nov 2021, based on a specific intelligence input BSF troops of Border Outpost Matai, Ex-200 Bn BSF, Gokulnagar seized 40 potlas containing 2,952 Nos Sarees worth Rs. 35,42,400/- along with 12 Nos Ladies Lehangas worth Rs.36,000/- making total seizure value to Rs. 35,78,400/-.This huge consignmentwascl and estinely concealed in the Rubber Baganarea near Village- New Matai, Police Station- Belonia, Sub Division- Belonia, District- South Tripura. The seized articles are being handed over to Customs- Belonia, Sub Div – Belonia, Distt- South Tripura for further disposal.

In one more such special operation on 24th Nov 2021 based on a specific intelligence input, BSF troops of Border Outpost Yakubnagar, Ex-139 Bn BSF, Panisagar seized 4,000 Nos Yaba Tablets along with Indian Currency amounting to Rs. 9,115/-& Hero Glamour Bike, Total seizure value Rs. 20,34,115/- and detained one suspect namely Jaydul Haque (26 years) S/o Acha Uddin R/o Gangajal, Tarakpur, Kadamtala, North Tripura in the general area of border Village- Sonarbasa near Juri River, Sub Division- Dharmanagar, District-North Tripura. The apprehended suspect along with the seized items has been handed over to Police Station- Dharmanagar, North Tripura for further course of action.

Besides above, on same day, during special joint operation based on a specific intelligence input, BSF troops of Border Outpost Joshitilla, Ex-119 Bn BSF, Teliamura with local police seized 500 Nos Sarees worth Rs. 15,00,000/- which were clandestinely stocked in a gunny sack hidden under the bushes in general area of Village -West Lambuchera PS-Kamalpur, Distt- Dhalai.

BSF Tripura is frequently confiscating huge quantity of contrabands and giving big jolts to trans-border smugglers particularly Narcotics / drugs traffickers during ‘Anti-Smuggling Drives’ in the Tripura State.
