Border Security Force has further intensified its surveillance to pawn the trans-border smuggling of Narcotics and other Contraband items on the Indo-Bangladesh International Boundary by conducting ‘Anti-Smuggling Drives’. In the series of such Special Operations, the troops of BSF Tripura have succeeded in seizing 50.5 Kgs Ganja, 267 Bottles Phensedyl / Eskuf Syrup, 875 Kgs Ilish fish, 13,102/- Bangladeshi Taka along with other contraband articles, besides rescuing 14 Cattle Head shaving combined value of Rs. 19,74,850/-during various operations in intervening night of 02/03Dec 2021.
On 03rd Dec 2021 based on specific intelligence input regarding smuggling of Ilish fish from Bangladesh to India, BSF troops of BOP Ashabari, Ex-150 Bn BSF, Gokulnagar conducted a special operation. Despite of offensive resistance from the smugglers, BSF party successfully seized a huge consignment comprising of ‘875 Kgs Ilish fish worth Rs. 10,50,000/-. The seized consignment has been handed over to Customs-Sonamura, Sub-Div- Sonamura, Distt- Sepahijala.
In another operation on 03rd Dec 2021, acting on specific BSF intelligence input, alert BSF troops of BOP UNC Nagar, Ex-150 Bn BSF, Gokulnagar seized “32 Kgs Ganja worth Rs. 1,60,000/-“. The seized Ganja has been handed over to Police Station- Sonamura, Sub Division- Sonamura, Distt: Sepahijala (Tripura).
Border Security Force is determined to counter the nefarious designs of the Smugglers and to effectively eradicate the menace of trans-border smuggling of drugs / narcotics & various contraband items.
