
Due to tireless efforts of Border Security Force, Tripura and continuous operations against drug & narcotics peddlers, there has been increase in seizure of narcotics. Efforts of BSF will certainly help in to make “Tripura –a drug free state”. Acting promptly on specific intelligence input, alert troops of BSF cordoned off the area & started search. During search sign of drum buried in earth was found. On digging of earth 13 Nos plastic drum full of dry Ganja were taken out. During the operation rep of Police was also present on place of seizure. In the joint Ops with Police 439 Kgs Ganja worth Rs. 21,95,000/- in the premises of a house in village Rangamat , PS & SUB Div – Sonamura, Distt- Sepahijala was recovered. In the same operations 16,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs. 80,00,000/-, Eskuf syrep -474 Btls worth 82,950/- and Brown Sugar- 2.6 gm worth Rs.78,000 /- were recovered.
Yesterday, also on specific input 5700 Nos Yaba tablets worth Rs. 28,50,000/-were recovered in area of responsibility of BOP Salpokar. Total seizure amount of narcotics in last two days is Rs. 1,32,05,950/– Seized items are being handed over to concerned agencies to do needful according to applicable Law.
BSF troops deployed on the extreme frontiers of the country in Tripura are ensuring the peace, harmony and tranquility along the Indo- Bangladesh international border and seizing various contraband items on regular basis from the bordering areas.
