Agartala, Tripura, 4th of April, 2026 : On 04 April 2026 at about 0930 hrs, a civil vehicle (Jeep, Regn No. TR01 4489) carrying 22 passengers from Jalabasti to Chawmanu met with an accident due to a slippery road and fell approximately 50 feet off the roadside in the Area of Responsibility of BOP Jalabasti, 33 Battalion BSF, under Sector Panisagar.
On receiving information, Offg Coy Commander Shri R. C. Nath immediately mobilised BSF troops and dispatched a vehicle to the site. In a swift rescue operation, all passengers were safely extricated from the vehicle. Eleven injured persons, including five women and six men, were promptly evacuated to Chawmanu Hospital by 1015 hrs for medical treatment.
No fatalities were reported. The timely and coordinated response of BSF personnel ensured quick rescue and medical assistance, preventing any loss of life.
