Dharmanagar, Tripura, 25th of February, 2026 : Civil Defence volunteers of North Tripura district submitted a memorandum outlining six key demands to the District Magistrate in Dharmanagar on Wednesday, February 25. The volunteers alleged that despite serving for a long time, several issues, including regularization of their jobs, remain unresolved. They urged the administration to take necessary steps at the earliest.Among the six major demands highlighted in the memorandum are:Immediate regularization of Civil Defence Instructors and Volunteers in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Assurance of at least 20–25 days of employment per month until the regularization process is completed.Provision of Civil Defence Warden training opportunities for those who have successfully completed four years of service.Increase in daily honorarium to ₹500.Payment of daily allowance during participation in disaster management training programs.Introduction of an insurance scheme for Civil Defence volunteers.The volunteers stated that they have consistently played a crucial role alongside the administration during various disasters and emergency situations.
In this context, they appealed for the prompt implementation of their legitimate demands.The District Magistrate’s office has received the memorandum and assured that it will be forwarded to the concerned department for necessary action. A sense of expectation is evident among the Civil Defence volunteers as they await fulfillment of their demands.
