Agartala, Tripura, 7th of July, 2025 : Closing And Prize Giving Ceremony of Hotel Sonar Tori B- Division League Football Tournament was held at Umakanta Mini Stadium in Agartala, Tripura on Monday (7th July, 2025). In this football league started on June 8 in the collaboration of the Tripura Football Association.

Interacting with media Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that the interest in sports among the state’s youth has increased significantly. This has been possible due to the State Government’s overall development of sports infrastructure. The Chief Minister also said that the present Government has been striving to develop the sports infrastructure of the State. The more the youth are involved in sports, the more it will be possible to keep them away from the curse of addiction. Only then will it be possible to fulfill the goal of forming a better Tripura. The Chief Minister congratulated all the team members participating in the competition and expressed hope that their results will be better in the future.

In this football league, Aikatan Yuva Sangstha (Santipara) emerged as the undefeated Champions and Birendra Club as the Runners-up. In the last match of the competition at Umakanta Academy Ground today, the game between Birendra Club and Navodaya Sangha Club ended in a goalless draw. At the event, the Chief Minister and present guests handed over trophies and cash checks to the members of the award-winning clubs.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were President of Tripura Football Association Pranab Sarkar, Vice President Rupak Saha, Chairman of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Nabadal Banik, Chairman of Tripura Olympic Association Ratan Saha and many other dignitaries were present at the event.
