Dharmanagar, Tripura, 5th of April, 2026 : With the upcoming Dharmanagar Assembly by-election approaching, campaign activities in support of Left Front-nominated candidate Amitabh Dutta intensified on Sunday, marking the 26th day of outreach. From morning till evening, the candidate, accompanied by a large number of party leaders, workers, and supporters, conducted door-to-door campaigning.

The day’s campaign was centered around Netaji Para in Dharmanagar. To make the outreach more effective, party workers were divided into two teams. One team included MLAs Shailendra Chandra Nath from the jubarajnagar Assembly constituency and Sudip Sarkar from the Barjala constituency. A significant number of supporters from the Sakaibari area also actively participated in the campaign.During the campaign, local residents voiced several grievances against the state government. Key concerns included drinking water shortages, lack of tube wells in the town, deterioration in the education system, and inadequate healthcare services.
Barjala MLA Sudip Sarkar stated that this public dissatisfaction clearly signals a desire for change. Leaders claimed that the presence of Left Front leadership encouraged many people to openly share their problems and demands, adding a new dimension to the campaign. Alongside door-to-door outreach, leaflets were distributed to communicate the Left Front’s message to voters.According to party leaders, public support for candidate Amitabh Dutta is steadily increasing as the election approaches, and they remain optimistic about securing victory in the by-election.
