As the polling day approaches, various political parties have ramped up their campaign efforts. In this backdrop, the CPI(M), under the Left Front banner, has been conducting organized campaigns to ensure the victory of its candidate Amitabha Datta.

According to party sources, leaders ranging from the Dharmanagar subdivision to top state committee members are actively participating in extensive public outreach across the constituency.Continuing this momentum, a large-scale mass contact programme was organized by CPI(M) on Tuesday in the Chandrapur area under the Dharmanagar constituency. Party leaders visited households, interacted with residents, and listened to their grievances. Prominent leaders present during the programme included CPI(M) state committee member Amal Chakraborty, central committee member Krishna Rakshit,ex Minister Bijita Nath, MLA of jubarajnagar constituency Shailendra Chandra Nath, along with Durgesh Roy and other senior leaders.

Interacted with the media during the campaign, Amal Chakraborty alleged that an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty prevails among the people of Dharmanagar, particularly in Chandrapur. He claimed that many residents are reluctant to express their opinions on camera due to fear of potential attacks by miscreants. According to him, over the past eight years, such a situation has developed where people feel deprived of their freedom to speak openly, although they continue to share their concerns privately with party leaders. He also raised issues concerning Anganwadi workers, stating that they have long been demanding regularization of their jobs. In many cases, salaries are not paid on time, leading to growing resentment among them.

Additionally, he highlighted public dissatisfaction over increased taxes imposed by the Dharmanagar Municipal Council, alleging that despite the higher tax burden, citizens are not receiving adequate services in return. Referring to complaints from local residents, CPI(M) leaders pointed out the poor condition of drainage systems, shortage of clean drinking water in several areas, and deteriorating road infrastructure. They claimed that these unresolved issues have led to rising public discontent. Furthermore, allegations were made that those who attempt to protest or raise their voices against these problems face threats and intimidation. Amal Chakraborty stated that CPI(M) is committed to addressing these real issues and safeguarding public interests.Expressing optimism, he said that the peace-loving people of Dharmanagar will exercise their democratic rights in the by-election on the 9th and ensure a decisive victory for CPI(M) candidate Amitabha Dutta.
