Dharmanagar, Tripura, 30th of March 2026 : Ahead of the upcoming Dharmanagar by-election, the police administration has intensified security measures by tightening nak checking across the area. The operation was conducted in the presence of Officer-in-Charge of Dharmanagar Police Station, Meena Debbarma, along with several other police officials. Under their supervision, vehicle checking has been further strengthened.

According to sources, a total of six nak checking points have been set up across the Dharmanagar area. Personnel have been deployed at each point round the clock, carrying out their duties without interruption.On the day, in the Dighalbak area of Dharmanagar town, police stopped and checked several two-wheelers and four-wheelers under strict supervision. The intensified checking aims to prevent any violation of election rules and curb the transportation of illegal items.The administration has stated that such nak checking drives will continue in the coming days to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful by-election.
